Purpose of the job

To provide workplace experience to students to complete their qualification and fulfilling the company’s responsibility in terms of the Skills Development Act. To develop and provide technical training for a student within the Industrial Engineering function through the integration of academic knowledge, on-the-job training, and exposure to engineering projects. This program aims to cultivate a competent industrial engineering professional who can contribute to process improvement, operational efficiency, and sustainable business practices.

  • Plant safety exposure
  • Conduct engineering calculations
  • Plant operations and related modules
  • Report writing
  • Support and coordinate engineering projects.
  • Equipment monitoring and process improvement.
  • Complete logbook aspects.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Planning and organising skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Experience

  • No experience is required.

Qualifications:

  • Matric
  • Completed S4 subjects in Industrial Engineering with 60% average and 65% on major subjects.
  • Statement of results.
  • Letter from University for workplace experience.

Personal Circumstances:

  • Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
