Our Company’s head office and main plant is situated in Chloorkop, Kempton Park, with a site in Cato Ridge KwaZulu-Natal, and depots in Bloemfontein in the Free state and at Atlantis in the Western Cape.
NCP’s Head Office and main plant is based in Chloorkop, in the Gauteng province of South Africa and part of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan district. This is where the Chlor-Alkali facility and associated infrastructure is operated from.
The factory is approximately 6.7 hectares in area and is occupied by NCP and an array of tenants, that share the site infrastructure and utilities. It is at this facility where the Chlorine, Caustic Soda and Chlor-Alkali derivatives products are manufactured and distributed, and is a Major Hazardous Installation (MHI) site
Cato Ridge Site
The second NCP site is located in Cato Ridge which is based in the KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa. This site is mainly utilised for the production of sodium hypochlorite, for the warehousing of chlorine drums and cylinders and for the blending of water treatment chemicals and is a Major Hazardous Installation (MHI) site.
The Atlantis depot accommodates full and empty chlorine drums (1000 kg capacity) and cylinders (70 kg capacity). These are distributed to end-users or returned to the Chloorkop site for refilling. Cylinders or drums that have been filled at Chloorkop are transported to the Atlantis depot and are stored in an enclosed storage facility.
Bloemfontein is used as a distribution point. From this depot we distribute a quantity of 120 Tons of Chlorine a month to various regions including Upington and Lesotho. Sol Plaatje Municipality, Bloemwater, Mangaung Metro and Sedibeng Water to name a few. The targeted end users are mainly schools, mines, holiday resorts and the community in these areas.
The business was established in 1942 and is a manufacturer and seller of base chemicals and is South Africa’s largest manufacturer of Chlor-Alkali related products.
