Our Operations

Our Company’s head office and main plant is situated in Chloorkop, Kempton Park, with a site in Cato Ridge KwaZulu-Natal, and depots in Bloemfontein in the Free state and at Atlantis in the Western Cape.

Chloorkop

NCP Chlorchem (Pty) Ltd (herein referred to as “NCP”) operates a chlor-alkali facility situated in Chloorkop, about 20 km northeast of Johannesburg in the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng Province.

The Chloorkop site comprises of the head office and a Plant Area and a Solar Evaporation Farm (SEF). The Plant Area contains processing plants owned and operated by NCP, as well as tenants, making use of NCP products or by-products. The SEF is approximately 224 hectares in extent and is located 0.5 km north-east of the factory site across Zuurfontein Road. The Chloorkop facility is declared a National Key Point / Critical Infrastructure and a Major Hazard Installation.

Cato Ridge Site

The second NCP site is in Cato Ridge which is based in the KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa. This site is mainly utilised to produce sodium hypochlorite, for the warehousing of chlorine drums and cylinders and for the blending of water treatment chemicals and is a Major Hazardous Installation (MHI) site.

Atlantis Depot

The Atlantis depot which is in the Western Cape, accommodates full and empty chlorine drums and cylinders. These are distributed to end-users or returned to the Chloorkop site for refilling. Cylinders or drums that have been filled at Chloorkop are transported to the Atlantis depot and are stored in an enclosed storage facility. The Atlantis deport is declared a Major Hazardous Installation (MHI) site.

Bloemfontein

The Bloemfontein depot, which is in the Free State, is used as a distribution point. From this depot we distribute Chlorine to various regions including Upington and Lesotho, Sol Plaatje Municipality, Bloemwater, Mangaung Metro and Sedibeng Water to name a few. The targeted end users are mainly schools, mines, holiday resorts and the community in these areas.
