Purpose of the job
The sales and marketing department is the revenue engine of NCP. The purpose of this position is twofold:
• To build and lead a team of business development officers (BDO) and key account managers (KAM). The BDO and KAMs will help drive revenue and identify new business opportunities. The role will be responsible for motivating the team to generate leads, build client relationships, set targets to hit or exceed revenue forecasts, and ultimately meet customer needs.
• Long-term growth leads to business success at NCP and pushing the NCP vision forward. This position will partner with multiple departments to drive measurable results that benefit our business and implement an effective sales approach that expands our reach, strengthens client relationships, and trains our sales professionals. This position must actively seek out other business opportunities that can boost revenue and set NCP apart.
This position profile acts as a guide to the role only, and additional work outcomes may be required to be performed by the incumbent.
The abovementioned activities shall be conducted in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, No. 85 of 1993 and all relevant NCP policies and procedures.
Key performance area
1. Business development and sales.
• Represent NCP effectively with comprehensive knowledge of our chlor-alkali products and offerings.
• Research customer needs and identify how our solutions address them. Use financial techniques to improve sales revenue.
• Achieve company objectives by planning thoroughly, setting sales goals, analyzing performance data, and making forecasts
• Generate leads and establish and nurture client relationships.
• Develop, execute, and oversee a business strategy that prioritizes growth and positive customer ratings
• Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and extends to NCP’s SADC reach.
• Conduct high-level industry research to develop effective sales solutions
• Meet with potential customers and grow long-lasting relationships that address their needs an promote all chlor-alkali products.
• Ensure that company quotas are met by holding daily check-ins with sales team to set objectives and monitor progress
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
• Review sales contracts/distributors contracts to ensure they meet legal and corporate guidelines
• Interact with clients and respond to important inquiries about the company’s products or services
• Oversee tender processes.
2. Management.
• Manage team of KAMs and BODs on a daily basis
• Set individual sales objectives and targets
• Training and coaching and monitor their performance.
• Develop skills continuously for hiring, training, and leading team members, and ensure that they’re using effective sales tactics to meet revenue objectives
• Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop plans for close them
• Annual Budgets and Monthly forecasts reports
• Provide continuous, constructive feedback to sales team.

Experience
• Minimum 10 years managing Sales in in chemical manufacturing industry
• Minimum 8 years in a Business development/Sales management role
• Minimum 5 years of managing a Sales/Business development team
• Strong knowledge of sales growth techniques
• Proven track record in the entire sales and business development process
• Outstanding Leadership ability
• Willing to Travel 30% of the time
Qualifications:
• Grade 12
• Sales and Marketing Degree (NQF 6)
• Post graduate degree/advanced diploma (NQF 7)
• PGDip in Management (Business Administration – NQF 8) – advantage
Reporting structure:
This position reports to the Sales & Marketing Executive.
Personal Circumstances:
• Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
• Willing to Travel 30% of the time.
