Purpose of the job
This position is a strategy builder role. It is responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with customers. The position will work in close association with various business departments, and thus maintain and develop the strategic relationships with the Key Accounts. Secondly, the position is accountable to promote NCP’s products and services to the customer base in such a way that enables the Company to achieve its strategic and financial targets.
The abovementioned activities shall be conducted in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, No. 85 of 1993 and all relevant NCP policies and procedures.
Key performance area
1.
Key Account Management.
•
Develop and foster loyal, long-lasting trust relationships with key customers, brick-wall competition.
•
Identify yourself as a committed resource and assist, support and provide solutions that meet their objectives and goals with reasonable timelines.
•
Management of customer complaints promptly.
•
Research Market trends to generate more sales.
2.
Chief Communicator.
•
The link between the key account and NCP’s internal teams. Ensure customer changes are communicated clearly to internal stakeholders and internal delays issues etc. are communicated back to the customer.
•
Ensure correct products are delivered to the customer on time and in full.
•
Manage customer complaints and resolve issues customers may face.
•
Build and maintain the trust relationship with all stakeholders.
3.
Sales.
•
To carry out regular customer visits.
•
Meet monthly/annual sales budget on revenue and volume
•
Meet and exceed GP and R/t targets per product per month and per annum.
•
Identify growth opportunities at customers, drive customer retention and revenue growth.
4.
Administration.
•
Pricing updates submitted within a reasonable time to Sales and Marketing Officer to upload.
•
Transport price updates submitted within reasonable time to the Senior Customer Liaison Officer to upload.
5.
Reports.
•
Monthly sales forecast per customer and product prepared for the following and uploaded on 25th of the month onto the s- drive and communicated to the Supply Chain Co-Ordinator and Customer Liaison Officers, Business Development Officers and Key Account Managers.
•
Visit reports uploaded on a Friday onto the S-drive
•
Monthly Presentation – Sales Meeting
•
Weekly call plan presented at weekly sales meeting on a Friday.

Experience
•
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a chloro-alkali or chemical manufacturing industry.
•
5 years sales experience and a proven track record.
Qualifications:
•
Grade 12
•
Sales and Marketing or Business Administration Degree/Diploma.
•
Chemical qualification – advantageous.
Reporting structure:
This position reports to the Sales & Marketing Executive.
Personal Circumstances:
•
Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
