Purpose of the job
The Stores Supervisor reports to the Procurement Manager and will be responsible for warehouse &
inventory management in the Raw Materials and Engineering Stores.The incumbent will be
responsible for the flow of all Raw Materials, Packaging and Engineering spares.
The Stores Supervisor responsibilities include managing a diverse group of Stores professionals,
supporting the implementation of procurement strategies aligned with business and functional
strategies.
Key performance area

  1. Responsible for the efficient control of the Engineering & Raw Material Stores
  • Manage & control all activities related to stock flowing in and out of the engineering & raw material stores.
  • Responsible for the management and control of inventory accuracy
  • Responsible for the layout of the stores & to ensure it adheres to NCP’s safety protocols and overall
    compliance with health, hygiene, and security standards within the warehouse
  • Provide assistance to the Procurement manager to identify & controlling of all risks associated with
    managing inventory
  • Ensure Material Master and bin master is maintained, updated, and actioned as required
  • Take ownership of material master data: identify, plan and execute routine master data cleaning
  • Control, quarantined and damaged stock, this includes inspections, scrapping processes, etc. physically
    and on system
  • Take ownership of slow-moving stock: identify, plan and suggest initiatives to remove the slow-moving
    stock
  • Plan and implement cycle count weekly on SAP
  • Manage & control all Variances investigations, Stock adjustments, Stock transfers & Stock queries
  • Maintain accurate record of inventory and stock management systems according to set standards
  • Analyze inventory trends and opportunities for product reuse
  • Supervise the maintenance of a warehouse/storeroom and ensure proper arrangement of stock
  • Optimize inventory control procedures
  • Perform month end stock count for the raw materials and packaging
  • Adherence to HSE compliance and responsibilities
  • Ensure that the safety policy & procedures specific to the stores are adhered to
  • Ensure compliance to policies and procedures
  • Drive the Lean Six Sigma initiative to achieve improvement results in your team.
  • Plan & manage all overtime & standby rosters.
    2.Manage Engineering and Raw material store personnel
  • Responsible for the Engineering and Raw Material stores personnel which includes development,
    discipline, admin, morale, etc.
    3.ERP System
  • Responsible for the Materials Requirements Planning on the Erp system.
  • Responsible for training requirements on the Erp system for all personnel

  • Understanding of the Manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. OHS Act and regulations)

  • Investigating RCI’s, issues and non-conformances

    Experience
  • 5-7 years’ experience in stores Management.
  • Experience in Sap or JDE
  • Experience with MRP

Qualifications:

  • Matric or Grade 12
  • Tertiary qualification in Inventory Management, Supply Chain
    Reporting structure:
    This position reports to the Procurement Manager

Personal Circumstances:

  • Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
