Purpose of the job
The Stores Clerk reports to the Store Controller. The role is responsible for provision of support in the stores
unit to other divisions in the plant. The role also provides administrative services for the Unit. The incumbent
must ensure that all relevant information with regard to receiving and issuing of stock is captured on the system.
The incumbent will be required to work within prescribed standards, processes, procedures, and need to
optimise the work outputs within these.
This position profile acts as a guide to the role only, and additional work outcomes may be required to be
performed by the incumbent.

  1. Conduct Weekly Cycle Counts. and daily counts on fast moving items.
  • Completed sheets submitted to the Stores Controller
  • Physically count stock as per weekly allocations
  • Ensure accuracy all the time.
  1. Maintain Good Health, Safety and Environmental Standards.
  • Adhere to Safety Standards of Handling and Storing of Hazardous Substances
  • Hazardous Substances stored in its allocated storage locations.
  • Contaminated waste must be stored and disposed of correctly (REFER TO: MSDS)

  • 1 – 2 years’ stores experience
    Qualifications:
  • Matric
  • Certificate in Stock Handling/Warehousing
    Reporting structure:
  • This position reports to the Stores Controller.
    Personal Circumstances:
  • Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
  • May be required to be on Standby.
