Purpose of the job
The Rigger Handyman reports to the Supervisor and is responsible for conducting preventative
maintenance and maintenance on NCP Chlorchem Site.
The responsibilities abovementioned shall be conducted in compliance with the requirements of the
Occupational Health and Safety Act No.85 of 1993.
This position profile acts as a guide to the role only, and additional work outcomes may be required to
be performed by the incumbent.
Key performance area

  1. General Maintenance
  • Accurately rigging of equipment heavier than 25kg
  • Ensure that the equipment is inspected properly, and any discrepancies are
    corrected or reported.
  • Accurately Lifting of equipment
  • Ensure that the equipment used is cleaned.
  • Timeous transporting equipment internally and externally.
  • Ensure that spares are collected from suppliers timeously.
  • Truck Mounted Crane Operator

  • Carry out all lawful & reasonable instruction given to the incumbent.

Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar position after being qualified as a Rigger.
  • Must be able to operate an overhead crane and have a licence.
  • Have a valid PDP licence.
    Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Trade test completed as a Rigger.
  • Any other relevant tertiary qualification
    Reporting structure:
  • This position reports to the Services Supervisor.
    Personal Circumstances:
  • Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
  • May be required to be on standby.
