Purpose of the job
The aim for the incumbent is to implement systems and processes in order to mitigate workplace
conflict. In this role, the incumbent must manage the implementation of employee relations strategies,
policies and procedures in line with NCP priorities and objectives.
To strengthen the employer-employee relationship through identifying and resolving workplace issues,
measuring employee satisfaction and morale, and providing support and input to the company’s
performance management process..
Key performance area
- To develop Employee Relations Plan in line with overall HR and NCP Business
 strategy.
- To evaluate the employee relations risks aspects of the Annual HR Business Plan
 through the analysis of current versus required Employee Relations activities.
- Continuously liaise with the HR Executive on all employee relations risks within NCP.
- To ensure that all Employee Relations strategy, policies, guidelines, and procedures are
 developed, implemented, and adhered to within the requirements of all relevant
 legislation.
- To ensure that NCP line managers are trained to apply all NCP labour relations
 processes and procedures effectively.
- To oversee the implementation of effective employee relations processes within NCP
 and external forums.
- Provide technical and strategic advice and support to line and executive managers on
 the handling of disciplinary and grievance procedures to ensure adherence to legislation
 requirements.
- To ensure compliance with relevant collective agreements and international labour
 conventions within NCP and external forums.
- To Build relationship with employee representative unions.
- To build and maintain effective relationships with relevant Labour Union and
 representatives within the framework of the NCP values.
- To compile and submit all formal communication to Labour Union as specified in the
 requirements of the collective agreement on a continuous basis.
- To organise and facilitate the monthly meetings between NCP and the Labour Union
 within the framework of NCP values.
- Reporting.
- Compilation and submission of the monthly Employee relations report to the HRBP and
 HR Executive.
- To represent NCP at external forums.
- To ensure that NCP are represented at the bargaining council within the framework of
 NCP policy, procedure and relevant legislation.
- To ensure that NCP are represented at the labour court through the panel of attorney
 within the agreed mandate.
- To ensure that NCP are represented at the employer organisation forum within the
 framework of NCP policy, procedure, and relevant legislation.
- Adhere to regulatory standards.

- Assist with daily HR interventions as and when required.

Experience
- Minimum 5 years representation at CCMA and Bargaining Council experience
- Min 2 years exposure to the labour court
- Min 5 years exposure to a unionised environment in a chemical Operation.
Qualifications:
- National Diploma/ Degree in Labour relations/ Law/ Human resources (NQF 6)
- Postgraduate qualification in Labour law would be an advantage (NQF 7)
 Reporting structure:
- This position reports to the HR Business Partner.
 Personal Circumstances:
- Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
